Social Media and Web 2.0

1. In regards to tv shows, movies, and advertisements looking more "homegrown," I feel that this is just a stage that the media society is going through. Yes, people can relate more to something that looks more amateurish but with the continue growth of new technologies companies are going to want to go more for whats new. It is getting to the point where everyday people can get their hands on high quality filming devices making amateur and professional start to look similar. 
2. I know that every time I go on the computer my hands subconsciously type facebook after clicking on the internet icon. Facebook has consumed much of society's time and now almost everything revolves around such a simple site. Companies, schools, adults, children, teenagers, musicians, etc. are using Facebook. First it was myspace but there is so much more that Facebook has to offer in terms of social networking which became much more appealing. It is definitely here to stay for a while because it has become apart of everyday life and its continuing to grow and expand.

I think the video above is perfect because it shows how incorporated facebook is in our everyday life. 
3. Transparency in the media world is not always good. People are not always real with what they say on their facebook or twitter its sometimes put up for someone else's liking. Also now people are putting in advertisements to possibly gain profit from corporations when then the person might not actually care about it at all. So much is revealed through social networking and it is hard to know what is true and what is not when its posted on a personal page. It is not as important in the offline world because in person it is easier to see the person and understand where they are coming from. Also usually when people talk about a subject in person its because they have witnessed, read, or heard it from another source which is more reliable then just simple words on a screen. I feel that this is especially common in the celebrity life because companies push for the simple acknowledgement from them so gain profit when the celebrity themselves might not care about the company at all.
